Powder coating of weapons

Every owner of a weapon knows that over time, with constant use, it will lose its appearance. And the protective coating too. And after that, rust and oxides will certainly appear on it. And if nothing is done about this, then very quickly the weapon will simply stop working.

Weapon manufacturers paint their products with powder paint. Mostly black and gray. Such paint will not work to paint a weapon at home. But it can always be handed over to professional painters for restoration. Here they can install a powder coating line at their production facilities. And thus, to return to the weapon not only an attractive appearance, but also to protect it from possible negative influences. In addition, powder paint can be used to paint not only metal parts of weapons, but also plastic ones. Moreover, powder paint has a huge number of colors and textures. This means that everyone can paint their favorite pistol in any color and make it absolutely unique.

Why powder coating?

Powder coating is a modern alternative to all other paints and varnishes. As a rule, it is used for dyeing ferrous and non-ferrous metals. But technology is evolving. And already it can be used on many other materials, for example, on plastic. The main thing is that they can withstand high temperatures.

Powder paint has become popular because it creates a coating that is resistant to chemicals, gasoline, ultraviolet light, and temperature extremes. It is not rubbed off, durable, shock-resistant. On the powder coating, various scratches and other mechanical damage are less noticeable.

And also powder paint allows you to get a perfectly uniform and high-quality coating, without smudges and variations in thickness. But, of course, all this can be obtained if the technology of applying paint is followed.

Weapon painting technology

Painting an air pistol and other weapons always begins with disassembling the product into parts and thoroughly cleaning them. For this, you can use sandblasting or shot blasting. Also, all parts must be degreased in a special solution. This is the only way to make sure that there is no dirt, traces of oils, greases, rust, residues of the previous coating. And the powder paint will lay in an ideal layer only on an absolutely clean surface.

After all parts of the product to be painted are completely cleaned, you can start applying paint. The parts must be suspended in the spraying chamber. After adjusting the spray gun, paint should be applied to the surface. After that, it is the turn of the polymerization oven. The coating is baked at high temperatures for up to half an hour. Powder particles melt and solidify under such conditions.

The dyed product can be used immediately.

To apply a coating on parts of the gun, you can take not very large equipment. If you plan to paint by hand, it is better to paint the small parts together. In order not to spray paint in vain, which still does not all get to the surface. Better, of course, to get an automatic line. It guarantees minimal loss of powder when painting absolutely any parts.
