Automatic line for powder coating

For a full-fledged and automated process of applying powder paint, an automatic powder coating line is used in production. It includes: a surface preparation line, a drying oven, an automatic spray chamber with a cyclone, a polymerization oven and a conveyor along which everything moves.

Washing chamber

The first stage in surface preparation is its cleaning, degreasing and etching with various chemical solutions. The washing chamber serves for this.

We produce different types of chambers:

  • immersion chambers;
  • spray cleaning with a driven conveyor.

The design of the line provides a place for tanks with liquids for chemical cleaning, it can be located under the chamber. The product passes through several compartments and sequentially, one by one, is processed with the preparations necessary for the technology.

Drying chamber

After the metal has been chemically treated and rinsed, it must be dried at 100 °C – 130 °C. 

Therefore, after the washing chamber, the product goes along the conveyor to the drying chamber.

The drying chamber is of four types, depending on the energy carrier: electricity, gas, diesel, solid fuel heating.

Heating method is convective. The drying chamber is equipped with a heating unit and has ventilation.

Due to the intensive circulation of hot air, the metal is quickly heated and dried.

The product that has passed through the drying chamber becomes completely dry.

This process is obligated, since the quality and uniformity of the future applied powder layer depends on drying.

Spraying chamber

The spray chamber creates ideal conditions for painting.

Externally, the chamber can be made of powder-painted ferrous metal, galvanized steel or plastic. The internal joints of the chamber are sealed and have large  rounding radii, which allows to clean the chamber quickly and easily while color changing.

The spraying chamber consists of a working chamber, a filter unit, a cyclone, a fine air purification unit, which allows you to leave warm air in the workshop and a control panel.

Thanks to the final block of filters, the degree of air purification is maximized. Loss of paint no more than 5-6%: this paint, which has collected in the lower part of the cyclone, can be reused.

Cyclone

A cyclone is connected to the spraying chamber. It is designed to separate the air from the paint, which is sucked in from the spray chamber.

Centrifugal air currents are created inside the cyclone body, created by the fans of the filter unit. Due to this, the powder particles settle along the inner walls of the cylinder and the cone.

In the lower throat of the cyclone, a sieve is installed to clean the secondary powder from debris, which automatically feeds into the main paint tank.

The air purified from large particles of powder goes into the final filter through an opening in the upper part of the cyclone and returns to the workshop.

Polymerization oven

The paint sprayed onto the surface is hardened by means of a polymerization oven. 

Polymerization process: when the oven heats up, the paint begins to melt, forming a viscous film. When heated in a powder paint polymerization oven, it penetrates into all surface irregularities and hardens, forming a polymer coating layer with the maximum adhesion rate.

The product warms up evenly over its entire area (the difference in temperature does not exceed 5 °C).

The type of oven heating is provided in 4 variants, depending on the client’s capabilities: electricity (heating elements), gas, diesel, solid fuel heating.

The polymerization oven is controlled through the control panel, which allows automating the process.

The oven has an optimal air flow rate that does not blow away paint from the surface.

Automatic conveyor

A special transport system is used to move products along the entire line. The quality and speed of the transport system directly affects the performance of the product painting. Choosing a system the main indicators are speed, carrying capacity, square meters that need to be painted per shift.

We can manufacture a conveyor, both in a floor version and with an air-rail movement.

Automatic line for powder painting is designed individually for each client. You would not be able to find two projects of the same type.
