Epoxy paints
Epoxy paints are widely used in the industry today. These paints have good decorative and coating properties.
There are different types of epoxy paints depending on the composition (resin and hardener).
The main function of epoxy paints is: electrical insulation and corrosion protection. This type of paint has become an excellent alternative to the old method of electrical insulation such as tape wrapping, impregnation with liquid paints, etc.
Epoxy paints are widely used for anti-corrosion protection due to their low cost, ease of application, maintenance and excellent protection against aggressive environments. These coatings are flexible, impact resistant, have low permeability and good heat resistance.
Protective and decorative paints (or paints with special effects)
Unlike polyfunctional paints, protective and decorative paints carry the main thing – aesthetics. They are used in: the sphere of doors, furniture, railings, toys, forged items and much more.
Also these paints have an anticorrosive coating effect (protects metal from corrosion and rust for a long time).
Paints for protective and decorative purposes are:
- antique
- semi-antique
- crocodile skin
- metallic
- etc.
Epoxy-polyester (hybrid) paints
This type of paint is more resistant to yellowing than epoxy (yellowness can be caused by overheating to epoxy at the time of curing). But not to use for products that receive direct sunlight. Mechanical properties are the same as for epoxy paints.
Disadvantage: Epoxy-polyester paints have a lower resistance to chemicals than epoxy paints.
Typically, epoxy-polyester paints are used to paint shelves, water heaters, metal furniture, tools, and more.
Polyester paints
Polyester paints are made on carboxyl-containing polyesters. It is the most weather resistant powder coat. Has the following advantages:
- lightfastness
- mechanical resistance
- electrical resistance
- excellent adhesion
- abrasion resistance.
They use polyester paints for painting car rims, aluminum profiles, transformers, air conditioners and much more.
