Powder painting methods

It has been stated more than once that powder paint is one of the best alternatives, and sometimes a replacement for liquid paints. Despite the fact that powder paint has been painted since the 50s, it is still relevant today.

Although there are different and new technologies for applying powder, the essence remains the same.

The product is cleaned of excess fat, debris, dust and oil, and only then they proceed to the stage of applying the material to the part.

The main advantage, compared to other paints, is practically waste-free use, because if there are powder particles that have not settled on the product, they can be reused.

After applying the powder, the part is transferred to a special oven for baking, where the polymerization process will take place.

As the temperature rises, a solid film forms. It extends the life of the painted part.

There are 3 main stages:

  • Melting powder paint;
  • The emergence of a monolithic layer;
  • Coverage creation.

Powder paint can be used to paint not only metal products, but also for example: glass, ceramics.

Due to its versatility, it is used in various industries:

  • transport and S / G;
  • for painting a playground, pipes, and even doors;
  • electrical engineering, transformers, lighting equipment, boilers for heating, etc.

What are the main advantages of powder paint:

  • Increases corrosion resistance;
  • The surface is more resistant to external influences;
  • Aesthetic look;
  • Fast painting process;
  • Eco-friendly product;
  • The product becomes electrically insulating;
  • Democratic and affordable price.
  • A wide variety of colors, in addition to the already existing RAL catalog.

What are the negative sides:

  • For each color – a new container, if you want a pure color, then – you cannot mix;
  • It is very difficult to apply a thin layer;
  • Dyeing large items requires very expensive equipment and a lot of space.

Also, powder paint is used when painting discs for cars, because it adds life to them, and sometimes resurrects them.
