Surface preparation baths

The most important stage in painting products is preliminary surface preparation. Surface preparation baths will help to meet this need.

Operational principle:

The surface preparation bath is designed to remove oil contaminants, preservative coatings by immersion or blasting with degreasing, detergent and phosphating solutions.

Option 1. Blasting:

Baths

The baths are made of AISI 304 stainless steel welded structure. Our specialists have designed the volume of the baths for preventing rapid contamination of the chemical solution inside. Baths are equipped with a system for cleaning and draining through the overflow channels of the surface layers of oil, sludge, or other contaminated solutions.

An integral part of the baths – filters – are designed to be dismantled and cleaned easily. In all tanks, the filters are arranged in two rows. They prevent rapid contamination of the circulating solution and therefore provide more reliable processing.

Tunnel design

The tunnel frame consists of 1.5 mm AISI 304 stainless steel panels placed on a 2.5 mm base.

For insulation, 50 mm stone wool is used, sheathed with powder-painted panels. In order to prevent mixing of chemical solutions from sprayers of different baths, there are partitions in the tunnel.

Intermediate openings

For reuse of the chemical solution sprayed on products during washing, special intermediate openings are provided after each stage of surface preparation.

Inspection doors

Inside the tunnel, sealed, heat and chemical resistant lamps are installed. To ensure the possibility of the operator’s passage inside the tunnel for maintenance and operational intervention, sealed inspection doors and technological staircases are installed in the provided places.

Pumps

The solution supplies through the vertical pumps, which are a pumping section as part of a pump electric motor and a pressure control system.

Cascading system

To keep the consumption of water and chemicals to a minimum, a controlled water transfer system is installed between the baths what makes water consumption for rinsing minimal.

Spray system

The liquid sucked from the baths with chemicals is fed by centrifugal pumps to the atomizing nozzles. All manifolds, connection and spray pipes are made of pressure resistant pipes. In addition, the spray circuits are individually designed and can be easily disassembled and cleaned. The nozzle head is rotatable, the spray direction is adjustable.

Air blowing

An air shower is installed at the exit from the tunnel. The air is filtered and by blowing the parts it removes drops from the surface.

Option 2. Immersion method:

The principle of washing operation remains the same as described above but a difference is in applying solutions and drying products with use of the following modules:

Auto operator (telfer)

The auto-operator is used to automate regular parts transfer (loading baskets into solution baths and drying chambers) in a production line. The auto-operator or telfer is controlled by the operator from the remote control. In accordance with the terms of reference, auto-operators can be designed and manufactured taking into account all the wishes of the customer. Our company is engaged in both the production of auto-operators and control systems development.

Drying chamber (box)

The drying chamber is designed to remove moisture from the surface of the workpieces by evaporation. Heated to the boiling point of water and evaporated in a stream of heated gas. High speed of reaching the “working” temperature compared to decrease in the power of electric heaters. The simplicity of the design provides high reliability which makes maintenance costs lower. “Soft” heating of parts – no direct contact with the heating element. Large volumes of dried parts.
